What must an architect or a client provide?

As it is now, you can basically only raise the driveway plus garage to house level by bringing in earth and building an expensive retaining wall with angles. That will cause trouble with the neighbor and also requires a new building application. A one-meter-wide path to the front door from the property boundary street, slim along the house wall like a step-free disabled ramp, would only allow two meters of driveway, which I find too narrow. There, too, a retaining wall plus a railing would be necessary. Conclusion: Move the house. Or just a parking space on the street, no garage, no long driveway. Cars can also be parked outside; a garden shed can also be accommodated differently.

Thank you for your feedback Nordlys. Were you also dissatisfied with the architectural planning after you received the building permit, if you don’t mind sharing? Can you roughly tell me how much the disabled ramp with railing that you proposed would cost? My considerations are going exactly in this direction. Thank you.

To your first question, no. We had discussed it back and forth for weeks beforehand, talked about it with a friend, and then that was it. I can accept the compromises to be made.
To your second question, your general contractor should be able to tell you. Removal of stairs, laying sand, paving slabs, angle supports, railing. Savings on the authority fee.

The problem is that you yourself sign the documents for the building application—believing that the expert will conscientiously and independently get the best result for the client. Mistakes always happen, whether you can understand them or not. They happen. From the architect, the builder... ultimately you, who have given all these countless signatures. But I don’t understand why the general contractor now wants 500€? Was the surveyor already there after the permit was issued??? We also had the garage "moved," which cost us about 90€ for the subsequent approval—for the permit, not for the general contractor. That was service from him.

In this respect, I would try to talk to the general contractor—diplomatically referring to a mistake by the architect... you are also interested in not making a big deal out of it ;)

By the way, in such cases, public construction blogs help as "leverage" :)

Don't do that with the ramp. You have a 2 m driveway to the garage at the end. Width of Golf 7 is 2.027 m.

I only do the ramp if the building structure is shifted to the left and I have a 3 m wide access road to the garage. The 500 euros represent a flat rate because individual drawings need to be modified for the amendment to the building permit. According to the architect’s statement, a new survey must be done if the building structure is shifted to the left. I have learned from the whole story that apparently you also have to check the professionals, but who can acquire the knowledge of a geologist, structural engineer, architect, and civil engineer alongside a professional and family life? Not me.
