A garage in the east would lead to a driveway from the south, which is not quite so easy due to the sloping street. (See pictures)
hm... can you insert a Google Maps screenshot? It's not exactly clear from which corner the photos were taken.
I would orient my terrace where I a) have sun and b) can somewhat shield myself from the surroundings, if necessary.
If there are taller houses somewhere or on one side a nice single-family house garden, then I would include it in the planning.
You now have a street/path around the property, right?
And we actually don’t want to make the house narrower...
Why not? A house is planned according to the plot, so all options are still open!
Are these concerns unfounded?
I think so, yes.
Look (the house is approximately 10 x 12 placeholder):
Approach from the west:

Approach from the south (or also from the east)

With every placement, you create a nice south garden, possibly also west... however, of course, the floor plan can have an impact.
P.s. I have now made the garage 7 meters wide. And I just noticed you want it 7 meters deep? Then in some variants you even have an extra meter of south garden, if needed...
