Electric release with A-lock (you already have) is sufficient. Motor lock is more expensive and has the disadvantages you described. You will take the electric release offered to you by the supplier.

The second offer only came in last week and has not been approved yet, so it hasn't been installed either. The offer is also for the GU Security Automatic with A-opener. The only thing that still bothers me a bit is the wiring of the door. A visible wiring with a "hanging" cable transition between door and wall/frame was offered. I would prefer if it could be installed relatively invisibly in the gap between the frame and door casing. That is the disadvantage of retrofitting rather than installing it from the start. Although the security company also sells the Mediator, I was advised against the Mediator because we have a plastic door. A plastic door would expand too much for the Mediator and would have to be readjusted too often. But since the Mediator was almost 1000 more expensive, they did not have to do much convincing.

I just spoke with the door manufacturer. The door manufacturer is installing the automatic lock with A-opener from Winkhaus. I will still receive the data sheets but I strongly assume it is the following automatic lock with A-opener winkhaus bluematic eav3 with a-opener Does anyone know this lock, does anyone have experience with it? Price approx. €300 from the door manufacturer. What do you think the installation and connection of the door lock by the electrician will cost + video doorbell with Ekey (without material from ekey and doorbell) the electrician assigned to us (we are building with a developer) is currently not responding to us (and other neighbors) so we can’t ask

Thanks for the hint, I will write to them about it.

I have another important question since the lock issue is now clarified (we can only use that one)
a proper motor lock would cost at least 3-4 times as much.

Where should we place the fingerprint scanner?

In the door (in the door leaf or handle), separately in the facade next to or below the doorbell, or integrated directly into the doorbell?

With ekey we should definitely go with ekey, right? (it's basically number 1 for fingerprint) especially given the price/performance.

My first thought was to integrate the ekey into the doorbell (looks good) and it's easier to replace than in the door.

But that limits the choice of doorbells a lot.

Which doorbell would you recommend with ekey??

The doorbell should be able to do the following:
- send the video when someone rings to 2 phones (mine and my wife's)
- have an indoor station (we don't know yet if we want that)
- be able to open the door with the door opener in the doorbell app or indoor station
- have the possibility to use it from anywhere (we don’t know yet if we want that)
- be secure
- have a POE connection (isn’t that the best connection?)
- definitely work without a paid subscription (so no €5 per month to use certain functions)

How do you control the door lock with the ekey app?

I have already tried to look for doorbells and often came across Doorbird with ekey.

What do you think of that? Are there better alternatives that I haven’t found?

The 2N IP Verso was also interesting but it has (as far as I know) a subscription required to use it remotely.

I hesitated between Doorbird and GOLIATH/Dahua. The latter, however, is not available with ekey. The former is, and there is a video comparing the Doorbird's own FP scanner (called Doorbird XXXX Fingerprint 50) with the Doorbird with the Ekey module. In that comparison, the Doorbird's own FP scanner performed quite well. Currently, we are not using the scanner from Goliath yet, so I cannot share any experience with it.

In my opinion, with children in the house, an indoor station is a must. Our child is briefly home alone in the afternoon, so he shouldn't open the door to just anyone. That is one of the main reasons we are installing the system.

If I were you, I would definitely favour an IP system with POE in the new building.
