Nevertheless already thought of in the long term - so why the perspective of wanting to build only in several years when the creditworthiness would already be sufficient?
A loaded topic, so I originally opened a about it :)
We have lived in the USA for the last 10 years with a short break, before that a few years in Switzerland. You could say that I have spent almost my entire life abroad after my studies. For private (family) and professional (less travel) reasons, however, we are now back in Germany. Our considerations began before Corona but were reinforced/accelerated by it.
From today's point of view, I would like to start building quickly, preferably yesterday. On the one hand because we don't have a social network in Germany, except close family who are also scattered. That means renting somewhere now and then building somewhere completely different is "lost" time in that respect. Regarding the age of our children, the older one will finish primary school in 2 years and the younger one will start primary school simultaneously, another reason to start immediately. Besides that, I am also a really impatient person and find it annoying every month to keep paying our 2k rent ;)
If we find something suitable, it just can't go fast enough. We definitely don't want to artificially wait somewhere else anymore, as it would then be quite late. It would be optimal to find a plot in our current region, where we are already familiar (and which is also my childhood home), but that is much more unlikely than if we spread the net much wider. At least in this respect it is an advantage to have hardly any existing connections.
