Setting the garage/carport close to street level would certainly reduce the winter risk. On the other hand, we also want it close to the house for shopping, rain, etc. Therefore, it would probably make sense not to place the house right at the edge of the northern building area? I also noticed the following in the development plan. This probably means that, in the worst case, the parking space would have to be set back a bit if not approved otherwise.

I cannot provide more pictures of the view or the opposite house yet, since an on-site appointment would have to take place first, which we have to wait for if we are still successful. We might possibly go there anyway in the next few days just to look at the street; it’s just 2 hours away.
Budget is a good question, what we can versus what we want. Based on rates, equity, etc., according to Interhyp we could estimate around 1.2M. But with the land value of 150k, we would certainly not want to go that high. Maybe 600-700k for the house without the land?
