Clear glass for example in the office is something I always suggest, or skylights above the doors. But with flat roof compartments, the best alternative is the roof hatch. It practically pushes itself in :)
You should include the entrance more in the design, which can handle quite a few changes.

;) That's exactly why there are about 50 motifs, from Picasso to Skyline. It's a way to brighten the dark hallway with a backlit picture, the skylight or the breakthrough to the roof is not worth the money for us. Taste cannot be improved, fortunately it is personally influenced.

Yes, sure. But with my answers, I tend to address the OP’s questions... it does not say “show your lighting options or glass doors” or “what do you have?”, but the OP is asking for his planning. And equipment follows a plan. And before installing a glass door, one should plan a window.
So, I’m curious ... the plot probably hasn’t been purchased yet either? ;)

That's what I wanted to ask all along, because it's the same with our townhouse. Certainly not ideal, but also not overly dramatic if you plan accordingly. The staircase will just be "dark," but that can actually be well compensated for by an "open design" and intelligent lighting. It doesn't bother us at all.

I already like your floor plan as a first draft; the comments are definitely valid as well. Especially the issue of the hallway on the ground floor and the office corner on the upper floor I would revisit. In particular, the office corner on the upper floor would mean too big a compromise regarding the bathroom for me, especially with children.

Bedroom: I find the window arrangement strange; I wouldn't place the large main window behind the headboard but rather towards the top of the plan.

One more comment about the staircase: Honestly, I find it planned very generously, almost too generous. You have a width of 2.42m; I think you can slim that down a bit and give it to the other rooms. For example, our landing staircase is only 2.05m wide. Even though, according to the general forum opinion, that is supposedly way too narrow, we absolutely do not feel that way at all. On the contrary: that was one of the best decisions :)

Why? An additional window costs money, a roof window is not exactly cheap. You need a door anyway, the glass door is not more expensive than the regular door. It therefore makes more sense to replace an existing door with a glass door. Of course, always under the consideration that you like it.
Therefore, it is sensible to bring this option into play to show the OP the different possibilities.

Orient yourselves on a semi-detached house – I would simply shelve the design you created. The plot is nicely buildable, albeit with compromises, but still livable.
Find an architect or general contractor with semi-detached house experience. Then it will work. The floor plan they create can then be discussed here.
