Terrace wall to the neighbor - What should we consider?

Because it's just a dark wall and comes across as very intrusive. I find the plain chain-link fence planted on both sides much more natural.

It is like a wall. According to § 906 of the Building Code, this can be an unreasonable burden on the neighbor – for example due to the shadow it casts or the appearance.

Yes, your wall is strange.

Exactly. As I said, with some distance from the common fence. You can’t just "lean" it against the common fence like that.

Yes, I want to think about the fence now, collecting ideas. We have a large area to fence in and not too much money, but I want something nice. You are welcome to post ideas for me, I was just confused because it can be somewhat intrusive and ugly for the neighbor, but because of that, he will not win. He won't like whatever I put at 180 anyway. I will not bring up the topic; he should settle with his other neighbors first, who definitely won't go down to 120. In the meantime, I'll look around the neighborhood to see what's common and for ideas.

Oh, now I understand. Yes, I will look for another fence, it doesn't have to be the one I inserted. I will pay attention to a somewhat "looser" design that doesn't look like a wall. Wooden fence or I don't know, I will look online for more ideas.

Yes, of course, there must be some distance to the boundary fence, but I think I read somewhere that I don't have to keep a distance for the separation of my property if I build up to 180 cm.

Keep the shared fence at 120cm. Get already large cherry laurels and plant them in front (I hate these plants, but with you they actually make sense).
It's thousands of € cheaper and reasonably dense within a year.

How big? I would have to put up about 100m of fence to my neighbors if I wanted.

I'll look at pictures tomorrow and in the next few days and see what's available in the neighborhood as ideas. It's hard for me to go down to 120, but as I said, I'll check.

We don't have 100m, that's really a lot. It would be about hm, well to the neighbor with the terrace, about 10m, on the other side the property is empty, that would be 22m, then at the front to the street 15, and at the entrance next to the house 8. I'll check tomorrow, I estimate about 50-60m. I really don't have the measurements in my head anymore how long our property is. If it's about fence payment, I would also like to have a neighbor on the other side. If you agree, you really save a lot. The property belongs to the same owner from whom we bought. I've often thought about whether I should ask him if we build it centered on the border, he contributes, and if he sells, he can get the money from the buyer. However, I wasn't sure if that would come across as cheeky and who knows who moves in there, I'd rather build on my own property. I have to weigh now, think about it, etc.
