Take old/previous furniture to the new house or get "everything" new?

That sounds like unbridled anticipation for the outdoor area!

Definitely!
That’s what makes a house for me. That’s why I will finish the garden as quickly as possible, everything else can wait and will be done little by little.

That doesn’t matter. Take whatever you want. Done.

We took everything because everything for the apartment was newly purchased beforehand.

Additionally:
Kitchen new, but appliances from the old one. The old kitchen found a place in the garage as a workbench.
Children’s room 1x new. Baby room furniture sold.

We are taking our kitchen with us. Bought for 5k back then and expanded for 6k now. Total cost 11k. If we planned a new one, it would be around 15k. Still a 9k difference, which you have to have first. [/QUOTE]

That was the case for us. The old one had cost 9,700 EUR and was expanded for 11,000 EUR. Still annoys me today.

We bought everything new, but that had relatively pragmatic reasons:

- We increased our space fivefold.
- The old furniture (completely Ikea) was still from university times and already quite wobbly and scratched due to frequent moves. Taking it down again wouldn’t have been good for it anyway.
- Many things were fixed/built-in.
- We sold our old apartment fully furnished, including the TV.

In the weeks before the move, we already set up the new furniture, and when the move actually came, it was done within a day.

Packing, loading two cars to the roof, unpacking, and then going to sleep. The next morning, starting the new chapter of life without boxes and chaos.

We are taking most things with us. Hopefully, the kitchen will stay in the apartment, it fits perfectly here, and it would be silly for the next tenant not to take it over for a fair price.

Otherwise, the guest bed has to go, as well as a Besta, which does not fit anywhere suitable. Eventually, the Pax will be replaced; we can finally go back to the tall version.
