Take old/previous furniture to the new house or get "everything" new?

I'll throw in "new" used furniture. I know some people in my circle of acquaintances who have bought expensive (and like-new) brand-name furniture second-hand. They go for very little money compared to the store price. And in the apartment/house, you can't see a difference from new furniture from the store. I'll also try it out when moving - things you might otherwise be too stingy for.

I am a big second hand fan and bought Bieke furniture in Gaza used as well as half of the kitchen. Oven, faucet, extractor hood, induction cooktop are second hand.

If I could do as I wanted ;-) ... I would do it the same way. :-) I can only sneak something away secretly and hope that the absence does not get noticed. ;-) So far it’s working and is therefore justified according to my value system. ;-)

Absolutely. Almost everything we have was bought used. Nobody notices and we save money.

I hope it shows on my furniture. After all, they have stories to tell.

Agreed! In our "entry laundry room" we have an approximately 50-year-old Eames Compact Sofa with its original leather upholstery and no longer perfect rosewood. It can tell a story in a few places and brings us joy. For cozy sitting together, we have acquired a Maralunga in our desired upholstery. It has been continuously offered since 1974. They are also available used in decent condition with over 30 years on the cushions. We hope to enjoy our purchase for decades to come.
