SAT system in new construction: Unicable or star wiring?

I would rather recommend a Unicable solution with star cabling.
So:
- Sat antenna with Quattro LNB (not Quad LNB!)
- From the LNB, 4 cables to a Unicable multiswitch.
- From the multiswitch, go star-shaped into the rooms.

This way, you could watch and record multiple programs simultaneously in each room. However, all devices would of course need to support the Unicable protocol. If you still have older devices, you can also choose a multiswitch with additional legacy outputs to supply the old (conventional) receivers.

Isn't one (still) too dependent on specific hardware with Sat over IP? I think most (new) TVs still can't do that. Then you would definitely need a separate Sat over IP receiver for each TV or new TVs everywhere that support it.

Do you think that's worth it? I assume that in at most 5 - 10 years the satellite dish will disappear from the roof. I consider this only as a temporary solution until streaming has finally established itself.

That's why we're currently watching TV over the Internet (Zattoo).
But I want to be able to zap directly on the TV again, without always having to start an app first.

And in EVERY room (including bathroom, hallway, kitchen) 2 LAN double sockets.

exactly my plan or rather my implementation. I just don’t really believe in Sat-Over-IP yet. And for exactly this reason:

The TV now has to last until the new receivers are standard (if there even is a standard yet). And until then, I wanted to put a dish on the roof. Netflix alone doesn’t make you happy after all. I wouldn’t need private TV channels. I admit that I like to use the public broadcasters’ offerings.
