Should satellite TV still be installed in the new building at all?

I will put a small Selfsat Dual antenna somewhere on the garage and run one coax to the living room and one to the technical room. Just to have it, otherwise hardly any linear TV is watched anymore.

I mostly agree - if TV is still really watched, go ahead, but make sure that network cabling (double sockets in every room, more in the living room...) is not skimped on for that purpose. Sat-over-ip works well for me with the high-quality converters - but is only "used" once a year. Since I get it from the neighboring house, that’s not so bad, otherwise I would have been annoyed.

What I would like to add: don’t block valuable photovoltaic space on the roof with the dish. The dish is much better placed on the facade. It is better protected from wind and weather and easier to access if something happens.

We also installed a dish, but only on the patio roof leading to the living room. I also consider this only a temporary solution, but didn’t want to do without it entirely. However, even there now more content comes through the Internet than via the dish, if we watch at all. In the other rooms there are LAN sockets, where only streaming or downloading is done.

ok thanks Sat really seems to be on the decline I'm currently unsure where the Sat dish should be aimed was it exactly due south? Where would be the optimal location for a Sat dish? The roof is hard to access (for possible maintenance) and takes up valuable space for photovoltaics What would you say about the garage roof?

Yes, that roughly goes south. But you can also easily google it. If the dish does not face a wall with an elevation of about 30 degrees, it fits. Exact values depend on your place of residence. Mine will also be on the garage roof, so I don’t have to see it.

Disadvantages. High installation costs (if you don’t do it yourself). And less space for photovoltaic modules  We had considered doing it, but have now switched to the internet.
