We also had the dish on a freestanding concrete-embedded mast at the old house. If you have a corner where it is not visible, that might be an alternative.
Again: The Selfsat are good and very unobtrusive. They are not new either; I have been using them in an apartment since around 2010 and later on a house. No disadvantages compared to 85 cm dishes. You can also suitably foil or paint them. However, if you don’t want to see any of that and also can’t get on the roof, you should have paid more attention during planning.
a few years ago we switched from IP TV to SAT and also have a flat antenna from Selfsat. The antenna is mounted on the facade under the roof. Reception problems have occurred very rarely during thunderstorms. We can live with that. Streaming runs smoothly on the same TV via WLAN.
