To discuss what with them? That everyone should donate 100K? but there are worlds between 200 and 140 sqm … 140 I find too small.

I’m with you on that. I also have no problem talking to others about money. I don’t have to be ashamed of the equity we have saved up. Actually, it’s crazy that something like that goes up in smoke. But with family, I talk about land, not about such things. The parents-in-law even wanted to give us money. I gratefully declined because I prefer to do things myself and still would build a house that makes no economic sense.

I understand it as the architect discussing with the client whom he includes in the tender and why. If you are satisfied with the floor plan, why don't you speak openly with him and tell him that you are not happy with the tender and its result? Ask him what he intends to do next.... an architect contract is usually a contract for work, meaning he owes you a result, not just efforts.

Freely following the old saying: There is no such thing as too big, there is only "too expensive". Otherwise, some people here would have a 300m2 villa. The question, however, is whether you really need the desired size if financial resources are limited.

We will talk to him calmly tomorrow. However, I don't know if I want to start over with him again. He gives me the feeling that he actually has no time for us and somehow handles everything stressed on the side.

These are just numbers for individual rooms. Numbers. Who here has 60 sqm open-plan rooms? Yes, some, but that is really very, very large. Many here barely have 45 sqm.
