So, small update: the building application has been submitted ... now we just wait and see what the building authority does with it .
And? What’s happening with the approval? Has your terrace roof been approved? Otherwise, I’d like to liven up this thread a bit
Otherwise, I do it like @ypg: we like to see the sky and hear the wind in the shade-giving trees, except on the lounge terrace, where it’s cozy to sit under a modern wooden pergola completely covered with wisteria.....ok, not quite yet, but the wisteria is trying its best
It’s really got us down now. Since the storm shattered our beloved pavilion , something else has to come soon. We often have wind from the west on our south-facing terrace, and our furniture suffers from the moisture. Even our beautiful granite terrace is already turning green. Decorative candle on the table won’t stay lit, etc... none of this is ideal. Long story short: It will be roofed over
Building a terrace roof (e.g. with inside awning and 3 vertical awnings) only for sun protection. Seriously?
Seriously! but without vertical awnings, instead with sliding doors on one side. Planned size: 3 x 5. Someone even gave us offers for 3.5 x 5. We quickly realized that many are just salespeople, but some install themselves. We want the installers because of our external insulation. KD and companies like that don’t operate in northern Germany, but we want everything from one source. One of our favorites called me yesterday and talked with me for half an hour to tell me his roofs would be too expensive for me... because I requested an affordable version in the offer. He did give me some tips (which I have already forgotten again ) Now comes the house number: 3.5 x 5 meters sliding side part including wedge laminated safety glass 14 LEDs electric awning all foundations and external thermal insulation system anchors Just under €15,000 Question: middle post ... is it needed or is the look more important? Somehow I feel the middle post could still be useful?! My husband doesn’t want it. We don’t see any potential for savings now if the roof is supposed to fit the house and enhance it.?! You?
