Good evening,

With all due respect, the window installer either had a bad night or is generally stuck in the past.

If you are building new, in my opinion, you should do without the center post; nothing beats a full opening width. By the way, we have been installing mullion-free windows for several years now and have had no problems with them; whether Weru, Veka, or Kömmerling. Especially not with Veka.

He cannot do that, and if he tries, I would strongly reprimand him.

Best regards from the Rhineland

I have to join in here.

We also have some windows with rough opening widths of 2.01 m (height: 1.235). Our window manufacturer also said that he would prefer to install a mullion for this width so that the frame in the middle wouldn’t sag eventually... We would prefer it without a mullion, but we don’t want declining stability over the years either. Is that really the case?

We also decided on a central post. A few panes were replaced for us, so I know how heavy triple glazing is in that size. I think the central post makes sense...

Hello,

I already wrote about it in a previous post: No, it is not the case; especially not with BRF. Up to a sash dimension of 1.135 m - this is absolutely no problem; everything beyond that, however, becomes quite heavy with triple glazing and should always be decided on a case-by-case basis - floor-to-ceiling or BRF -.

Rhenish greetings

Construction expert, you made a little mistake - Stulp-free would be with a central mullion

I just have the window builder's offer here, we also have two Stulp windows.

Hehe... I am also reading the posts for the first time and wondering, because we also have mit Stulp (as far as I remember) So ohne Mittelpfosten, double-wing patio doors 2 meters wide, but... (I guess I'm the one who has now built with rarity)... double!glazing Our architect saw no problem in anything!
