Good evening,
With all due respect, the window installer either had a bad night or is generally stuck in the past.
If you are building new, in my opinion, you should do without the center post; nothing beats a full opening width. By the way, we have been installing mullion-free windows for several years now and have had no problems with them; whether Weru, Veka, or Kömmerling. Especially not with Veka.
He cannot do that, and if he tries, I would strongly reprimand him.
Best regards from the Rhineland
we are building a single-family house with our general contractor. A 2m wide patio window / patio door (triple glazing) is to be installed in the living room (profiles Salamander).
Our window installer wants to install a post in the middle - he believes otherwise it will not function properly. A 2m wide roller shutter tends to bend and could be blown out in a storm (with a post the roller shutter would be divided - i.e. 2 shutters of 1m each). We would like a design with a mullion-less sash (Stulp) without a post (we currently have this in our rental apartment, but without a roller shutter).

The window installer does not completely refuse the installation, but if we stick to our decision without a center post, he would disclaim the warranty for the fittings, the frame, and the roller shutter.
