Thank you already for your ideas ...

What do you mean by space-saving staircase? In the 3D view it was a "normal" spiral staircase ... or do you mean it is generally too narrow? The dimensions are about 2.4 width by 2.0 depth, is that very small?

Regarding the hallway, I have attached a picture for you, you can see the enlarged area due to the bay window and the recess for the coat rack, which makes it overall even bigger ...

The storage room upstairs measures about 1.15m x 2.45m, should that work with the heating? Otherwise possibly widen it to what size?

The bathroom will be virtually unviewable and we like floor-to-ceiling windows for the feeling of space ... we would use a pleated blind as privacy protection.

Have you received quotes? The windows look strange. In the bedroom there is only a small one facing W, but none at all in the south.

So the windows upstairs are all 1.1m wide and floor-to-ceiling; due to the slopes on the north and south sides, only Velux windows fit there despite the 150cm knee wall - and we don't want those.

So a heating room or your storage room upstairs should be at least 1.40 meters wide (absolute minimum in my opinion)... the easiest way is to check the conditions of your suppliers, as they often have recommendations or even mandatory regulations on how wide/long a heating room etc. must be.

By space-saving staircase I mean what the staircase represents... the half-turned 180 degree staircase still looks like a staircase but takes up the smallest possible space... but of course it doesn't become more comfortable or user-friendly because the steps have to be chosen extra small.

Then you can look forward every time something bigger has to be taken to the upper floor...

With the niche and bay window the hallway already looks better again, but the staircase still doesn't fit...

Well, if you like it so much in the bathroom... then so be it... but only one window facing north which is then at least half covered by a pleated blind... that would be too little for me... plus the dark room as a shower... well

It would be nice if there were measurements. I would be interested to know how wide the guest WC is. It looks to me as if the door can not open inward at all! The bathrooms in the old Hamburg apartments are shaped like a tube, but in a standard new build? I don't know... The utility room and WC can be better divided. I would also be bothered by the distance from the utility room door to the entrance; you always have to go through the dining room, for example, to carry beverage crates. Regarding circulation space: circulation paths should not be too long because you don’t get mileage allowance for countless unnecessary steps at home. Kitchen: if you plan a cooking island or counter, then it should be nice and large; if not -> too large, too much wasted space. Bay window: whoever likes it... but unnecessary costs start here. The idea with the storage room in the upper floor and the heating system in it is dismissed by the expert! The controlled residential ventilation also needs space. The heating installer wants everything serviced every year; in my opinion, there are also standards that must be observed. Personally, I placed the washing machine and dryer upstairs. I also don’t like the room layouts for sleeping/dressing/bath/storage here. In terms of size, you would have had more potential with the floor plan design, but I think here walls from a standard house are just moved a bit, so that "only" this comes out. Topic stairs: the big house builder from Soltau-Fallingbostel also plans such stairs: very narrow and tedious to walk... but it works. I would at most plan a single-quarter-turn staircase and not a double-half-turn. Topic windows: A wide sill-height window lets more usable light into the room than floor-to-ceiling windows. But most builders have been installing floor-to-ceiling windows in the upper floor since the last decade and then cover them with pleated blinds – I don’t understand that. But it’s also a matter of taste... from the outside it always looks nice and spacious, but inside it’s then darker after all.

Thanks already for your feedback ...

I would also like to change the utility room / guest WC, because the utility room must also accommodate the main connection and, if it doesn't fit upstairs, the heating / storage / ventilation system. Do you have any ideas?

The utility room will have an exterior door, the idea is that you drive into the carport and can unload directly into the utility room ...

I like the idea of putting the washing machine upstairs, could the dryer and washing machine be plugged into the storage room? This one has no window ...
