was just newly designed 2 years ago, a property of €2.8 million, the lady absolutely does not want a stupid door in the way. As soon as the weather is good, this door is open.

This property can be seen in several magazines, including architectural magazines.

This can also be solved this way, however it is of course not an absolute necessity. One could certainly have designed the kitchen in a €2.8 million property differently, that is, without this door issue, but apparently it was desired that way, so that is fine. Ultimately, it is a matter of taste and probably also the location of the property. Here in Germany, one would certainly solve it differently in a luxury property, and also would not build the kitchen like that. It rather reflects the saying: "different countries, different customs," just like the Scandinavian doors/windows that open outwards, or the huge Canadian fireplaces in the middle of the room, or the TV in the kitchen elsewhere, etc. Also, since shading plays a big role here for us, this solution is excluded in most cases, and generally I would see no advantage in it for myself.

Well, I'm just now thinking a bit about possibly having one or two (terrace) doors in my living space open outwards. The reduced interior space requirement is certainly a plus. I'm just not sure yet about shading. On the other hand, I'm currently having the extra cost for a controlled residential ventilation system calculated, and two of the doors would also be "built in" with inward opening. That way, at least if desired, you could manage without a lot of rearranging. Are there any other disadvantages? Of course, you have to be careful with planting and the edging of the dirt strip. Everything has to be below the sash. But I assume that's usually the case anyway, isn't it (apart from possible planting)?
