Absolutely right! But commercial calculation always also includes some kind of customer relation / satisfaction / etc.

That is simply no longer given in this case. Provided he knows how far along we currently are, how everything is behaving, etc. In the end, it might be a maximum of 4 weeks delay. I just find such a response difficult towards the customer. I don’t order my kitchen from just any furniture store, but from a proper specialist dealer with top references and a good reputation. That’s why it annoys me all the more...

But yes, ultimately it is then up to me to negotiate that or to decide whether I buy the kitchen there or not.

It was only important to me to know that other kitchen dealers also work with TZ's AFTER the contract has been signed.

That is not "cheeky" because not every kitchen studio can afford that, as the margins are not 30% everywhere.
We ordered our kitchen in 2019 and due to Corona and so on, the house will only be completed at the end of the month and the kitchen will be delivered at the same time. The kitchen manufacturer originally also wanted a surcharge, which I negotiated down. When he turned his screen around and showed me a margin of 7,x %, I knew why he wanted more so badly. Now you also have to consider that countless emails, conversations, and changes have been made with the kitchen supplier, so this kitchen will be a break-even deal for him.
You cannot expect this kind of goodwill from every kitchen supplier.

Definitely, most will try, because no one will want to give you anything for free...

look at your devices, you can get a Miele oven for 600 to 6000 €, after one for 3000 € in the old house there was the new one for 700 €, only basic model with pyrolysis. Or ask for [Naturalrabatt]

Question 1 has already been answered. Our kitchen was critical in one dimension for the entire kitchen planning. I made sure that all craftsmen adhered to it. Plaster, door frames, sockets, position of light switches, etc. That would not have worked on its own with raw construction measurements = kitchen planning.

Then our kitchen installer only came to us for the measurement and ordered the kitchen from the manufacturer after plastering. When asked why not order earlier and then change if something unexpected happens, the answer was that too many things had gone wrong with changes in the past and in the end nothing fit anymore.

At the moment, the situation is difficult to assess for all involved. I assume that both kitchen and appliance manufacturers will raise their prices this year or next year by at least the discussed amount.

The negotiation strategy would be 50/50 or a higher-end appliance for the same price if you actually had to pay the extra cost.

Currently, due to demand, in my opinion, rather Wild West methods prevail. Extremely unpleasant, but if you want to build/buy, that apparently has to be accepted. Buying a new kitchen has too low a priority for me personally (2-person household) to get involved in that; with the actual house construction we decided differently, as you might know, since it was partly our own fault.

I am interested whether this will change again when demand decreases or whether this behavior will become permanently established.
