Is the financing for the house calculated well enough?

But you do have a "small" horizon

It is not detached from reality. But Steffen's views and experiences do not reflect the reality of the vast majority of households. Cf. H4 calculation etc., and the craftsman with 1,700 net will not calculate in these orders of magnitude either. I calculate 600 euros for us, as a family of four. Whether that still holds true, I do not know. In some months, we only shop at REWE, then it might fit, and we also do not buy ready meals, chips, sweets, yogurt, etc. At the weekly market, one easily spends a hundred after a round, then it gets "tight" with 600 euros.

Yes, I only mean that in 90% of households there is at most half the budget... perhaps unrealistic was the wrong term. 1700 is already a lot for a normal craftsman. At least here in the region. It’s more like 1300 to 1500 and I find it already crazy if someone spends a month’s salary of an average earner but if there is enough zasta, why not

I didn’t want to make what who spends the main topic now. Opinions vary widely anyway. I would also mainly shop at Lidl and co with a net income of 5000 euros but that’s a different topic

Keep hearing...and it's nonsense. There are certainly such people...BUT the majority of the "higher earners" gradually adjust their standard of living. Whether it's food, vacation, or car. Where do you want to go with the money once the house is paid off and many thousands of euros are left over every month? The richest person in the grave? As I said...especially if the income grows continuously over a long period (as it did for me)...so do the expectations continuously grow....

I can only confirm that. With every promotion, I adjusted my lifestyle and a saturation point was only reached at a very high salary. For me, it is also unthinkable to build a house and give up anything for it, especially vacations and eating out, etc.

Although I now live in A14, I don't live much differently than before, rather more frugally. Somehow, I don't need many things anymore. For example, cars have become quite unimportant to me. Or when traveling, I like it, often, but never in those five-star places. You don't experience anything there. South Crete, 2 stars or three, at Maria's on the beach in the apartment, eating at the local tavern... we always experienced something, even if you have to throw the paper into the bin because of narrow sewage pipes...
