Is the financing for the house calculated well enough?

For the loss of income after pregnancy, there is parental allowance.

We have a Wohnriester financing of over 170,000. So basically half loan half building savings contract. The interest rate is fixed until full disbursement. Term is about 26 years if no special repayments are ever made.

Then another 100,000 KfW at 1.5% for 20 years.

Small flex credit from the house bank as a safety buffer.

We had equity of 30...40k and own work on the house itself.

Loss of income due to pregnancy is also not a problem. Because there is none. Parental allowance is different and can hurt a lot, depending on whether the woman is the main earner or not. For us, it means that I can only stay at home for 10 (-1 month maternity leave) months and we have to save up for that. We lose over 1000€ per month. But you can calculate and plan for that. And as soon as mom decides to stay at home for 3 years, dad earns money alone for one year.

The ratio of income to repayment looks average - some seem to have quite a bit, if you read diligently here and generalize it. Whether you can save anything else depends on your consumption and your luck with expensive devices or an upcoming car purchase etc. Wait and stay calm, just don’t overthink - there is no reason to start growing gray hair now. Best regards in brief

Yes, gray hair can't take much longer. Sometimes I'm really a scaredy-cat about it. But normally, it should all be quite doable.

As I said, consumption is kept within limits. I mostly go to the discount store anyway, even if I had significantly more income. We both always drive only good used cars. Personally, I don't care about that... As long as it runs and doesn't have many issues. No expensive hobbies and vacations max once a year, and if it doesn't work out, then not at all or just 1 or 2 short trips.

Parental allowance would be about 1100 if I then go into tax class 3, including child benefit we might be short about 300 euros. I think that's manageable. And after that, madam wants to work again anyway. The company is flexible there as well. Grandma and Grandpa are only a few kilometers away, and the daycare or kindergarten is just a stone's throw away. And these costs are covered, as I said, by my employer.

1150 EUR per month for us (1% repayment, unfortunately couldn’t do less) all-in costs over 1 million... you know that
