Yes, the basement is a tricky issue. I already asked a few people who know about these things, and they said (based on the pictures I took) that it was probably a coal or ash cellar, which is why it looks like that. O.o The locked attic is also an issue. On Monday, we are meeting with them again to clarify some discrepancies; I will bring up the matter of an expert. If they refuse, they have something to hide...
