Hello everyone,

we bought the hanging cabinet Godmorgon from Ikea as well as a worktop (which is 1.36m long), into which our built-in sink will later be integrated. Our wall is made of Unipor hollow bricks and has a thickness of 17.5 cm in the installation area in the shell construction plus plaster.

Now I am like many others, because I am asking myself:

[*]Which screws/anchors do I need so that the Godmorgon cabinet holds securely on the wall?
[*]If the worktop with the built-in sink is placed on top, should this be additionally secured with brackets (heavy-duty consoles)? If yes, which ones?

We just want to be sure that if the children lean on the worktop or possibly sit on it, everything will hold.

I am really looking forward to tips or experiences from you.

1) Wall plugs for 10 mm screws.

2) Probably not a mistake. Nobilia offers a support bracket for countertops, 25 cm long. Two of those.

Maybe this will help you. So, I installed heavy-duty brackets from the hardware store on both sides inside. However, these were modified so that the drawers would still fit. The diagonal braces of the heavy-duty brackets were originally placed in the middle. They were then moved outward. I don't know if it was necessary, but it makes it feel very stable. However, I had to remove something from the back wall because of the siphon. In our case, it is a drywall with an integrated OSB board.

We plan to do almost exactly the same, except that we have a single sink and the countertop is "only" 1.36m long.
I can't see it clearly in the picture; do you have an additional wooden strip mounted on the right and back underneath the countertop as support?

Scout said that 10mm screws with expansion plugs and support brackets should be sufficient. I had already thought about threaded rods because they hold very securely.

It should look something like this later, only that the base cabinet does not align flush. The countertop is 136cm and the IKEA base cabinet is 100cm. So we then have 18cm on both sides to attach towel holders underneath. Since one side, when looking at the wall, is on the right and does not adjoin a wall, I definitely wanted to support it there. But I don’t want to see any thick brackets... that’s the dilemma!

So the wooden board rests on the base cabinet and the heavy-duty brackets. The overhangs on the left and right are no longer supported. We have an overhang of 29cm.
This is what it looks like inside.

Left side:

It was quite a bit of tinkering to make room for the double siphon, but you don’t have that. On the right side (top picture) I had to move the cross wood because of the sewer pipe. On the left, I placed OSB underneath so that I am on the same level as the cross wood, so I could screw in the heavy-duty bracket.
