How much should a new gas boiler cost?

I find the suggestion to refer to a heat pump here quite justified. It is a forum, and if so far only the gas boiler has been mentioned, it is legitimate to refer to a heat pump. To dismiss it outright as nonsense (or something similar, I don’t remember the exact wording from page 1) is not quite fair. There are many families (including us) who are currently already heating with an air-to-water heat pump. And we saw it coming and signed an electricity supply contract with a fixed price until the end of 2022 at the end of 2021. We currently heat our house for less than €54 a month – for heating, hot water, and ventilation. No gas boiler can achieve that with the current gas prices. Besides, with gas you are also extremely dependent on the countries that supply gas. And currently, our reserves are so empty that it’s even making headlines in the media. Regarding the topic of China/Xi not doing anything against CO2 emissions: As little as I like or want to defend the Chinese regime and their human rights practices, much of what is said about it is simply wrong. I can warmly recommend the blog by "Graslutscher." He has written a very detailed article on the topic of China and climate change. You read it for half an hour, but it is very well prepared, well-founded with many sources, and very interesting.

You want everyone here to install a heat pump for environmental protection reasons. With a smaller world population, the climate problem would be smaller or solved. On the topic of Greenwashing: If you want to be green, you cannot build a single-family house. The heating technology can no longer make up for it. You never recover the resource consumption. To now claim that a heat pump is the solution is Greenwashing.

In other words, you recommend "decimation of humanity" (by whatever means) and housing barracks. Maybe you should go into politics?!
By the way, your last paragraph is simply a lie and - as always - not supported by any numbers.

So you decided for monetary reasons. But that has nothing to do with the topic that always addresses here (climate). If environmentally friendly heating technology were always cheaper (TCO), the discussion wouldn't even exist. A heat pump is not always sensible or cheaper. It depends on many factors. In a new, well-insulated house that is not too big, I would also install a heat pump. In colder regions, large houses or multi-family houses, or when a large peak performance is required, gas/combined heat and power plant etc. is better.

No, not only. We also decided for climate reasons. I think with the climate issue it’s like with all other things in life. Finger pointing and "but he pushed too!" won’t get us anywhere as a society. We all have to do something. And my basic attitude in life is rather to start and lead by good example than to point fingers and say "I won’t do anything as long as Peter doesn’t stop either." We do this on other fronts as well. For example, I no longer take AIDA cruises (and that really hurts me, even if it’s hard to believe), until they offer something renewable in their fleet. Those things really emit way too much unnecessary CO2. And I have communicated that to them on social media, and to the consultant who always asks me if we want to book again. I fly much less than before, and when I do fly, I at least compensate. I switched to a remote job so I don’t have to commute anymore, and I drive less than 2000 km a year by car. Hopefully soon electric as well. And our whole house uses no non-renewable energies, and I am a bit proud of that too. I have calculated my total CO2 footprint, and even though like every person I still have optimization potential, I think I am "among the front runners" in this regard. :)

no, I do not recommend that at all and I have not mentioned any kind of remedies. Everyone who cares about the climate must decide that for themselves. What do you want to give up and what not. What does a child mean for the global climate? Can you compensate that with your heat pump? No, you cannot. So you are putting your desires above the goal of saving the climate. For you it might be children, someone else might want to take long-distance trips, etc. From my point of view, that is legitimate. Just don’t point fingers at others if you don’t do everything yourself or accept that priorities are different.
