That would be absolutely "green." But then we're back to "shades of gray and colors." What do I want to give up and what not? What am I willing to sacrifice for climate protection? It only means that a childless person who owns an old house and heats with gas, flies on vacation... under certain circumstances does more for the environment than someone with children living in a KFW40+ house with a heat pump and riding a bike.

As I gathered from another thread, you want to build new there. And gone is the small footprint. The new building weighs significantly more than years of commuting…

How do you come to that? Less believing, more facts please If you don't know something, it's okay to ask. Yes, and? Normally, a larger volume means a better volume-surface ratio. Sure, a large house consumes more in absolute terms, but it does not make it less efficient. What do you mean by performance losses due to house size? A larger heat demand can be covered by larger heat generators. I have never heard that large heat pumps are generally inefficient. Here too, you are welcome to support your statements with evidence or numbers. Here, house size and the amount of concrete play a major role.

Instant water heaters used in multi-family houses require a minimum of 60°C. This is mandatory due to [Liegionellen]... this is not efficient with heat pumps. I also did not say that large heat pumps are not efficient. But to quickly heat a lot of water, peak power is needed. Heat pumps are not made for this. The autocorrect changed pipe losses into power losses. Due to the longer pipes, higher supply temperatures must be used.

I have to agree with that. It is sufficient for our 3-person household, but if a day comes when I just took a bath, dad has showered, and then the child unexpectedly needs a bath, the hot water quickly runs out, and it takes a little while until it is hot again.

Oh come on, you can compensate for a little extra concrete by not having children
