If the financing is tight and the money will be scarce after the house is built, this increases the personal risk for of implementing non-essential things early on at cost. Apart from that, I agree with you.

Well, at first the numbers still shocked me, but somehow you get numb... the 10 grand don't really matter anymore anyway. Joking aside, it was not originally planned, the parking space was gravelled, and I thought it could stay like that for now. I was simply at my (personal!) limit - the lady from the bank would have lent more too, but at some point you have to draw a line. Meanwhile, my income has improved so much that I regret not having included this manageable item compared to the total sum. Let’s see what comes out next week.

Is the financing for the house already signed, or is the house already standing?

Only the trend counts. I will not provide personal information here - I currently wouldn’t even know what to give. I consider money to be completely overrated in society. One can treat other people condescendingly with money, but real appreciation cannot be shown by money alone. No money is a tyrant. Many people do things for money that go against their own convictions.

For building wealth, the absolute savings rate is not decisive. More important are the abilities for realistic planning and the discipline to stick to this plan.

If you have wealth, let it take care of itself.

Living "on the edge" is a matter of nerves; many relationships do not tolerate this well. People who do not have these nerves must plan better than others.

Comparing is a frequently used method to make oneself unhappy.
