Theoretically, about 30% remains with us, but it is constantly flowing into outdoor facilities and missing small stuff.

So next year we will initially only have about 10% of our income left (the move will be sometime in December 2019/January 2020), but that will already change in summer because 1. our daughter will move from the nursery to kindergarten and the fees will then be much lower and 2. my husband and I will receive higher salaries. How much more, however, is not yet determined, so I cannot say now how much we will have left then.

yes, that’s the dilemma. Many want to make additional repayments in the first few years and still a lot of money flows into furniture, outdoor facilities, and so on ....

I have just seen an arms race in new housing developments as well. An umbrella for €300 is not enough (at first), there has to be a €10,000 cold conservatory with sliding glass wall. Garden furniture as well. Or a children's play tower, etc. But nothing changes. Everything always immediately the best. Has to be, after all, the others are doing it too, and it is definitely worth it for one’s own house. €2000 robotic lawn mower for 300 sqm of lawn, he’s always wanted one...

Well, I don't think it's necessary either... but maybe "he" can afford it? Everyone should be allowed to spend their money on whatever they think? For one person, the cold winter garden might be worth more than the large format tiles for €150/sqm. I find it difficult to allow myself to make a judgment there. Everyone has to decide for themselves what is more important to them. ...and another thought... bigger investments... especially like a winter garden, garage, etc., you can also ask yourself if you shouldn't factor it in right from the start... afterwards, after deducting the construction finance rate and additional costs, maybe there is less left over than you initially thought... then after 5 years, the driveway is still not paved, etc.
