That's right, because for a single-family house from 10 years ago with 150 m2, depending on the winter, you can expect between 15,000 and 20,000 kWh.

20000 kWh is far too much. I had that in the moderately insulated building from 1967 in recent years.

Single-family house with 170 sqm built in 1995 in Northern Germany, gas boiler about 3 years old: 18,000 kWh

115 sqm prefabricated house (concrete) plus 55 sqm extension from 2005 in timber frame construction.

There is still quite some potential to go down (lowering the room temperature). I think my mother always had about 23 degrees. That is a bit much.

Now I’m really appalled. No basic supplier? Well, that’s something new in Germany, that there should be regions without the legally required basic supplier. But detached single-family houses are not the norm either. And I still maintain that a 10-15 year old house should not consume 16,000 kWh of gas if it is normally built (there were already quite strict energy saving regulation requirements with the 2007 version) and heated normally. @xMisterx Nice example: The house is 27 years old and not 10, heated intensively, and has the consumption you estimated before for a much better insulated newer house.

So a house from the 2000s with ~140sqm would be placed at around 12000kwh/a at 21 degrees RT and a well-adjusted heating system.
