I, for one, was completely taken by surprise when I was told that this year it was being considered not to leave the underfloor heating (otherwise cold tiles) and the towel radiator on in the summer. For me, the heating is always completely turned off in the summer (except for water), and I would never have thought of heating in the summer?

Our energy consultant already notices, beyond inquiries about heating system changes, a certain reluctance towards new projects. People seem to be waiting to see where things will go with inflation, interest rates, and energy prices.

An acquaintance from Kyiv (a refugee) lived in a relatively new high-rise in the middle of the city.
Heating is supplied via district heating without any possibility for the residents to regulate it themselves. The consequence is that they have fresh air in the apartment both summer and winter, as the windows are ALWAYS open or tilted. Otherwise, it would be much too warm in the apartment during the heating period :)

Seriously? What is that?
Everyone is being presented with an RT?

How adult people allow themselves to be disenfranchised like that fascinates (shocks) me again and again.

Yes, that's how it is. What does disempower mean, ultimately it falls into the category of "different countries, different customs."
For me, of course, it was not comprehensible either, especially since it was not an old house, but "that's just the way it is."

ah, now I read it

Alright, I thought it was about us now. That would have been really exaggerated for me.

Although, my father lives in a large apartment building in the city that is heated by municipal district heating.
After it had been well below 20 degrees in the apartment last week, the supplier kindly turned it up yesterday.
There was apparently also an announcement along the lines of "We all have to save."

That's actually even worse.
Especially since the municipal indoor pool including sauna is open...

Not only found in Ukraine. I also know it from other countries. I also asked where the thermostat on the radiator is. The answer was: It is large, transparent, and you can open it.
