Again, why not put the guest room together with the shower in the basement? With a closed cabinet, the room can still be used as a storage room. Additionally, the pantry would then become significantly larger, which also generates storage space.

There are no windows in the basement at all. I would never stay there and wouldn't subject anyone else to that either.

A guest room is for sleeping after all, so in my opinion a basement window is sufficient, especially since modern basements are hardly distinguishable from living spaces except for the window (which doesn’t help you if it’s dark).

But of course - fresh air!
Whether windows are planned in the basement, we don't know yet. The conversion of the basement into living space is also not yet decided. Once the costs come into play, it will probably be quickly removed from the wish list.

Thanks first of all for the draft, Katja!

May I ask how you would now place the house on the plot? Because the entrance on the broad side of the house indicates an entrance in the north? Where would the parking space or spaces be planned then? Not that the front door can no longer be opened because a car is parked in front of it.

I see fresh air in the basement less as a problem now, provided that controlled residential ventilation is also installed there... We haven’t yet considered a complete conversion of the basement into living space; that would rather be the "last resort" if other options don’t work out...

Ha, I already asked you that in #6 and received no answer. I’ve been wondering all along what was troubling you. Then I figured it out. You probably want to place one on the left and one on the right of the house and then bring the house up to 3m from the street?

I wouldn’t have thought of that at all. I just wanted to park the cars in front of the house to the west with a 6m distance from house to street. Possibly also a single carport as edge development to the north – then the house would have to be completely at the south boundary. (Not that everyone should start complaining right away – that’s about just over 1m – no more. Even less in the OP’s design.)

Or do you absolutely have to come up to 3m?
