I am of the opinion that direct sunlight is almost always annoying, but nevertheless the rooms should be flooded with daylight.
That’s why the idea of “floor-to-ceiling.” I consider this extreme opening to the south, which is often advocated here, to be ill-advised. If you don’t get the direct southern sun, okay. But that is often associated with costs. I also see the frequent recommendation to place children's rooms facing south as disadvantageous without a proper roof overhang.
