Given the noise level from all sides, I see the choice of Ytong as highly questionable and would rather opt for KS with ETICS or similarly good soundproof bricks. What use is a passive house if I can't stand the noise inside? Especially the highway, you hear it constantly with Ytong - I promise you that.

No. That’s not true. We live in a Ytong house and have the A1 300-400 m away, and you hear nothing inside and only a faint rustling outside.

Of course you don’t hear anything inside when it’s nice and quiet outside. Only the TE knows the outside noise level at the construction site. Katja’s tip is then sensible or not depending on that.

However, the hint to consider this is fundamentally correct.

The fact is, the last time I dealt with Ytong stones, they were still made of aerated concrete. It is known for dampening sound rather poorly, at least it is one of the laggards in that category. Children noise from the right and highway from the left - I wouldn’t think twice and would choose the quietest stone.
