Presumably, the OP thinks the sun does not shift the 2 m along and abruptly stops shining at the garden fence.

I would leave it like that. The carport as a clear boundary to the playground. Terrace behind the house around the corner a bit. Small Biohort shed, fence finished. It won’t be dark at all inside the house, and the shade in the south is a welcome protection from the heat. In Vienna, the summers no longer differ much from Italy, - so says our son, who has been living there for quite some time, previously in Rome. There you don’t want sun, but shade. The apartments in the city, at least the newer ones, all have AC. Karsten

What is this sentence trying to tell us? That the car next to the playground serves as a boundary? Up to here and no further, because the car is standing there?
In my opinion, a hedge or a fence is still quite suitable as a boundary.

Yes, it does. A mega roof in front of the southwest windows shields the sun, from September to April there is a risk of depression.

Whether to install shading in the summer is, of course, another question. I would rather use slats or blinds there.

I can't see the appeal in this mania of bringing direct sunshine into the house in large amounts. It blinds, already produces good warmth in winter, and in summer you definitely don't want it inside. Large window areas that provide a lot of indirect daylight are the measure of choice.

By the way, the best solution would be to make windows ceiling-high instead of floor-to-ceiling. Because most ceilings, unlike most floors, are light to white and thus let much more daylight enter the room indirectly and evenly.

Logically, shading systems should move from bottom to top instead of the other way around. Does such a thing even exist?

Simple ideas are known to be the best...

I don't quite get that right now. How does indirect light work with windows?
