House placement on an unusual plot

Anyway - I think choosing a standard is better, especially in relatively straightforward cases, than any messed-up brainchild. So - why not? Perhaps you can still save a bit on the long driveway - all the pipes and stuff cost money too. The question is whether the shadow cast by a carport far to the south plays a role for the house in the back area?

I would say above all: a multiply envy-inducing, unproblematic plot to build on. Almost the opposite of what says :)

Well, the agony of choice really hits you here full force, yet I read it as a hint at a possibly unfavorable "planning" method. Even though you have the easiest to maintain building envelope – and the nicest usage template! – in the entire forum (at least in the five and a half years I have overseen it), floor plan planning before placing it is never advisable. You move, shift, and rotate a concept or at most a preliminary draft, but never a design with largely fixed dimensions anymore. In that respect, I fear you are even "planning" with a construction contractor "architect" aka draftsman.

You are absolutely right. The floor plan is from a model home that we really liked during the viewing because of the number and layout of the rooms. The builder provided it to us as it is. We then considered whether it would even fit the plot (sun path, garden orientation, neighboring buildings) and found it would fit well. However, we wanted to get other opinions as well, which is why we are here now. Do I understand correctly that you have a different opinion and find the floor plan unsuitable? What would you do differently?

Yes, something like that. But then move the entrance, i.e. adjust the floor plan. Parking spaces can then be placed in the lower corner with a short access route and close to the entrance.

It is commendable not to insist on having your house "individually" designed at all costs, but first to consider the catalog of your provider benevolently to see whether it contains a suitable proven model. Especially on this site, which is as neatly planned as by a butler's ironing, this is appropriate, since a catalog floor plan would not need complex fitting here.

My criticism is not directed at the floor plan – with which I have not dealt in detail either – but at the approach. I would always "start at the front instead of trying to shift into third gear," i.e., first work through service phases 1 and 2. They are numbered that way for good reason, namely because you start with them. Only with the rough concept would I then go hunting to see if I really need to reinvent my house or if it can already be found as a proven model in a catalog.

If the horse does not kick you when you bridle it backwards, you are more lucky than wise. I would not have bet on that.

What does it look like here? What do you say, lucky , about the suggestions?

Out of curiosity: Is there a reason why one children's room is a good 2m² larger than the other? I wouldn't do that if I am building new anyway and can plan everything from scratch.
