If you mirror like this, the gap is unused.

How about removing the balcony on the upper floor, taking the terrace on the ground floor out of the too small corner and instead making a large light well there for both rooms of the granny flat. Terrace for cooking and eating. Possibly move the parking space to the place of the garden house and also the entrance for the office via the light well, former terrace.

mhh, nice suggestion, I will visualize it and take a look. And what about the main entrance? An entrance for the granny flat at the large light well in the west and another entrance in the east for the ground floor/upper floor as before is also wasted space, since 2 paths to the street are necessary and the granny flat should not be accessed right through the garden/terrace. Finally, a suggestion. Of course, in the end we will go to an architect, but not with such a mess :-) I'll post it later. Where did you plan the entrances in your diagram?

Let the basement protrude up to 1.40m above ground, provide each of the basement rooms with skylights, and paint the light wells. More daylight is not possible in this case.

Then I am missing 1.40m height for the upper floor. The eaves height and total height are determined by the neighboring house. So I find the idea rubbish. That way I have brightness downstairs but no upper floor or attic, and the ground floor is at a 1.40m level. For the terrace I need a huge base. The entrances and stairs are the most important. Everything else around them will then fall into place. That much for the diagram. I find 2 entrances a bit too much for such a small area. Also, 4 parking spaces—I will never need that many. Maximum 2 plus bicycle parking spaces.

No
as I said, I would minimize the basement and the light wells anyway.

The entrance will have a hallway with separate access to your portion and to the [Einliegerwohnung]. Or 2 entrances on the ground floor.
