I believe that it is easier for an architect to understand what we want if there is an exemplary floor plan.

I don’t think that he studied and then needs an action recommendation from a layperson. I also don’t believe that someone, even if they draw it like that, actually wants it that way. I believe that a layperson naïvely falls in love with every design they create themselves with mouse and program. With children, pride is understandable; from adults, I expect reflection.

It is good if the customer knows what they want. But I find it wiser to refrain from an anchoring effect or priming through a specific floor plan.

More important than a floor plan is a room program.
It includes what you need.
Not bedrooms, but
a bed with the dimensions xyz
x m running wardrobe how is an architect supposed to know the space requirements of the handbag collection

Is the house built to last forever? About 200 sqm for 2 people? Did I calculate that correctly? Are you already planning the house to be future-proof? What happens if the 2 standard guests no longer come? Couldn't they have been accommodated in one of the "work rooms"? In summer, you are probably 90-95% in the garden or living room. So 3 empty rooms. Walking around 200 sqm and climbing stairs in old age, there are nicer things to do. I know many acquaintances of retirement age with 200 sqm houses who regret it.

This was unfortunately ignored by , but these are exactly the questions I am asking myself as well. It's rather just under 250 sqm... for two people... that should definitely be explained again.

So we are mostly just the two of us now. The children have left the house. We have deliberately chosen the bungalow style. We have about 130 m² of living space, plus about 21 m² of attic. That is completely sufficient and our children also find space to sleep and retreat. In addition, they have their own separate guest toilet with shower at the front. All my neighbors have a 1.5-story house and would now like to swap with us. :)

I see it the same way. We are building a 138 sqm bungalow and there are three of us. Financially, it would not be a problem to build 50 sqm more. This would also not cause the enormous cost increase. But for what? I am not building to avoid my wife, but to enjoy the house together :cool:
