: The plot slopes from east to west, with it leveling out in the southwestern corner where the slope is barely noticeable. The height difference is about 2 meters. At the moment, I find the layout of the basement rather secondary, even though, of course, everything has to fit together in the overall picture. From the building authority head himself, I know that there is no development plan and currently nothing speaks against the construction we have in mind. The furniture is inserted to scale in the floor plan. So I thought that would be sufficient for now.

: The street is on the western side of the plot and the access to the property is supposed to be from there as well. Therefore, the entrance on the north side (in my opinion) would make the most sense. But since the plot is longer than it is wide, we thought the house should be built accordingly to use the sunny side in the southwest as a terrace and recreational area. Yes, and the problem with the endless hallways in bungalows is known to me, and that’s why I’m hoping for some help here. Floor plans online often show the entrance in the middle of the house and not on the side. Probably to mitigate the problem with the long hallway a bit. The conversation with the architect was not bad at all; however, I just wanted to hear or read your opinion about my proposed floor plan. We have certainly already informed ourselves about house construction and its costs, but naturally, the whole thing is still in its “infancy.”

Hmm .. then such a plot is already a challenge and a terrace facing west (bottom of the plan) is not so easy, because the basement basically stands as its own floor there. So the terrace is more like a balcony?

Your site plan doesn't look like north is exactly to the left of the plan ... a real north arrow is always useful. And just enter a few elevation points in the site plan.

At least, in my opinion, your floor plan doesn't work like that at all.

Access from the west: I would spontaneously think of an L-shaped bungalow, with a recessed terrace on the west or east. Access from the west, separation from the living area in the south/west by the setback or vegetation, driveway to the garage in the north. This now without involving any elevation marks.

Certainly, I would not place the main terrace side on the small strip of garden in the west, which results from the shallow depth of the plot. Either a hedge will block the view, but also the light in the west, or one forgoes greenery, in which case one will certainly have all passersby’s views in the living and terrace area.

These planning ideas can certainly be developed without a dark, long, creepy corridor.

You can get used to a lot of things nowadays. But heaven, what were you thinking with that hallway? The living room completely pushes you into these shapes. You have a huge property, you're ready to design a bungalow, and you throw in some dysfunctional box. No, if you don't start from scratch there, you might regret it later. Every house has its basic ideas that define it somehow. I don't recognize them here. What do you want your house to be special for in your eyes? Maybe I'm just overlooking it. Enlighten me.

It's not meant badly.

Best regards, basti

Thanks first of all to everyone for your criticism. Yes, the hallway is really a mess...
Anyway, I have now used my computer again and obtained a top-down view of the property, which is already oriented to the north, from Google Earth. I hope I am allowed to do this.
You can see very nicely how the house approximately occupies the property, if you also consider the 3 meter distance from the eastern side.

Best regards

Good evening,

unfortunately I had to delete the jpg. Not because it violates the forum rules, but Aunt Gurgel has something against it.
