Either omit the suggestion from Würfel or this lock.

I don’t want to harp on it. But I find it so hard to get off the saddle ;): even if it becomes a 2-meter-wide closet, the basic desire is still to be welcomed by the house. I mean, we’re not talking about a cheap 109sqm house where every meter is used, nor about an “I don’t care where and how the rooms are” attitude, nor are we talking about a builder for whom daylight is quite unimportant. And we’re not talking about a farmstead or any other type of property that drives someone daily through a sluice because of the dirt, where they first have to leave their stuff. Just look at the ground floor. And there the stubbornness to build a sluice at all costs – no matter what comes out of it – stands in the way of a nice entrance. “If it doesn’t fit, it will be made to fit” – regardless of whether one actually wants it like that in execution. As a closet, the sluice has potential. The OP can slowly also give up on his basement, which is not in the budget anyway :D

I keep wondering where the steps down to the basement are supposed to be... If you put the closet under the stairs, then the access to the basement is missing... On the other hand, if you don't build a basement, then the utility room is missing... So you would have to completely redesign or better turn the guest room into an office (combined office/guest room), and turn the office on the ground floor into a utility room as an airlock to the garage...

You could also install a fireman’s pole, which would also fit well for the transition  Seriously, leave out the side entrance door – you will never miss it! That’s some overcomplicated idea you’re clinging to, which is neither necessary nor sensible in practice. A nicely weather-protected entrance area is all you need.

Otherwise, I think some sensible optimizations have already been made. I also like the upper floor of !

Hello everyone,
thank you very much for the many good ideas and comments. We will think about some points over the next few days and incorporate the collected feedback into new plans.
Until then, we remain open to both positive and negative feedback.

I can't share that at all. I go into the house 90% of the time through my airlock room. I also have "our" wardrobe and a huge closet there. The main/guest wardrobe is always free and looks tidy ;-)

I find the room great, but mine also has a window.
