Uh .. this here is the plan - right? There would be space for a hedge.

Yes, exactly that plan is what I mean. Thanks for copying it here. I couldn’t do that.

If a normal hedge is enough, that would of course be all the better. I thought it would be more complicated so that it would not only provide privacy but also good wind protection...

Well, I also think of a wall or wood. It also depends a bit on the house design. What I don't understand, however, is how you want to move the garage upwards on the plan with the current house plan to create a windbreak.

Starting from the floor plan as it is now drawn in the site plan above: Garage and living room extension stay where they are drawn. Everything else (that is the entire house) should be shifted downwards on the plan towards the street. This creates a niche at the terrace. The wind would not be able to enter the created corner of the terrace as much due to the living room extension. More understandable? However, it will be more difficult to implement with the swap of living room and kitchen.

You want to push the house (except for the kitchen) forward, so that the entrance aligns with the garage door; in doing so, the kitchen would become the windbreak wall? - that doesn't sound impossible, but a bit naive, and in my opinion would disrupt the clarity of the building (also where it facilitates cost-effective construction). And the garage exit would have to be reconsidered again – I don't want to say "covered," because with this exchange the house entrance would be more exposed to the wind. I think this can be achieved more elegantly / with less radical changes. Ideally without altering the building.

I would basically see it as feasible, and - what’s more - I am also a victim of the wind on the terrace... so you look at what can be done. I also think that having a kitchen there is doable. But: for a life with a wheelchair it gets more complicated. Every corner that is not necessary should not be there. Take a hedge!
