The all-purpose room, no... but everything built above it needs support. Yes, I know the house. But the office door from the living room is almost only an emergency solution, even though Katja made good use of these solutions. You have to know the requirements. If you have overnight guests like grandma at home, it’s hardly practical to have her go through the living room to the toilet... ok, you have two doors for that... but now try to furnish that room. A third door to the utility room won’t make it much more furnishable either... in addition to the building technology, hardly any proper wall space remains. What remains are walk-through rooms.

"Worried" is a big word, but yes: after all, there's a corner of the house "suspended above" that needs to be supported. I find that somewhat easier with timber frame construction than if you build masonry (double-layered) as shown in the floor plan.

You are right that the issue with the office is about the requirements. Our goal is rather to integrate this room into the "living" space than to have it as a room for grandma to stay overnight. It will probably be used as a guest room maybe once or twice a year anyway, since our entire family and friends, except for one exception who could potentially stay overnight, live within a 15-minute radius. That means there is no need for anyone to stay overnight with us there. I would not see the furnishing of this room as that critical either. Regarding the utility room, I completely agree with you. Furnishing will be difficult with three doors and a generally rather small area of 9 sqm.

We will take that into consideration, thanks for that!

We will look again for floor plans, although our need for a relatively small upper floor compared to a large ground floor is not so easy to find. We will also convey the feedback from the forum to the architect again at the next appointment. Basically, I took away that apart from the utility room, there are no "major errors" and that the statics still need to be examined very carefully. We will definitely have the upper floor adjusted again. I will probably post the new floor plan here again when it is ready.

Houses can also be designed individually by architects. That is their task.

Absolutely right! We had informed her of our room program including approximate room sizes at the first appointment, the wish for no sloping ceilings on the upper floor, and the desire for a wider house than its depth (more garden space as a result), and then let her "do her thing." The design I posted here is what came out of it. In retrospect, I wonder if I should have set more conditions from the start, such as that we want the children's rooms to face southwest towards the garden.

We will only be able to raise this at the next appointment, and until then quite some time will pass.

I think too much space is being wasted in the hallway upstairs. Is there a planned use for this? Since the upper floor is going to be redesigned anyway, I would take a few square meters from there and add them to the rooms.
