There are always outliers. Also in the other direction.

No. Your quote wasn’t referring to that either. You implied that people should not be paid under certain circumstances. Apart from the fact that cuts to H4 already happen under defined circumstances, the logic behind that is short-sighted. That’s what I wanted to get at. It has nothing to do with the efficiency of the Employment Agency.

That’s true and I stand by it. However, I only said that unemployment benefit I should be paid, nothing after that. A prime example is a 30-year-old without health restrictions. Why they should receive Hartz IV is beyond me.

They can't, if they have more than €4,500 in assets without having to reduce it. But if the 30-year-old has debts, then it might be more worthwhile to pursue insolvency with Hartz IV. Hartz IV – and the day belongs to you. Once you get used to it, maybe you don't want to get out again.

An interesting example is also child support. Scenario: divorced, two children who mainly live with the other parent. Simple income, not a high earner.
- Employed: minimum allowance €1,160. But rent still has to be paid for housing that also allows caring for the children (on weekends or more). This amount counts even in Munich, no matter how expensive the rent is. Family law knows no mercy.
- Hartz IV: standard rate €449 + reasonable rent. For example, Munich €1,040 or Dortmund €618.

Honestly, working 40 hours a week and earning less money than with Hartz IV? Sorry, but (legally) working just isn't worth it.

The assessment test to determine if someone can work occupies so many doctors, public health officers, courts, clerks, etc., that I confidently claim that abolishing the test would be cheaper and immediately free up a lot of tied-up labor.

A good example of how the desire for justice creates inefficiency, which is sometimes complained about by the same people who previously lamented the injustice.

Just to show WHY democracies inevitably do not run efficiently. System-inherent.
