That is already possible and will definitely become normal in the future...

Who would have believed 10 years ago that today we have PCs in our pockets that can do more than a space shuttle?

But of course, it is also possible that in 10 years we will still be using ugly thick power cables like today. I suspect this based on the current technical status and trends in market-ready development.

Yes, it has existed for decades with electric toothbrushes and slowly it is also coming into the mobile communications sector; from that you can see how long it takes until the vast majority of people deal with something like this... so you can calmly build a copper mine in your new house, because it is probably not to be expected earlier than in 50 years to have fewer sockets, etc... and IPTV is still so much in its infancy that I won’t even talk about it anymore

I am familiar with the techniques, but first of all fewer and fewer people want radiation sources in the house. Then it is suitable for low voltage - there are approaches for electric cars, but it is all still in its infancy. And today and certainly for the next years and decades, wiring is done conventionally on a large scale. But if you don’t need it, that’s fine

To add something about the topic of power outlets. We currently still live in a rental apartment with 3 power outlets per room, an old building. Strangely, it has never bothered us. We have also never thought about wanting more outlets,... because we simply don't need that many. We only have a power strip in the kitchen and living room. Those are also the two places in the house where we installed a few more outlets.

Maybe we simply have fewer devices than the average? No idea. I keep noticing with fascination how many people in our circle of friends and also here in the forum always talk about numerous installed outlets, and that you would need them all?!

Regarding IPTV... Why beginner's shoes? We last watched traditional TV two years ago. When the TV is turned on, either the PC image is streamed to the TV or Netflix is started. Satellite, DVB-T, and even IPTV are not even worth mentioning for us. So the affected sockets are out of the question. LAN is also unnecessary (as I said, for us). The current transmission rates have nearly doubled again since 802.11ac. Therefore, LAN outlets are also unnecessary for us.

Of course, this is all subjective, since everyone has different needs. Those who work a lot from home and possibly run servers or a home theater will naturally need significantly more, including a LAN network.

Some keep up with the times, some don't. My father still has a hi-fi rack in his living room and feels like he needs 20 power outlets for it. I have an Apple TV and 1 receiver, and two power outlets are enough for the same result ^^ .. How it will be tomorrow, no idea.
