Whereas 1600 is again greatly exaggerated - I mean the limit is 3600 watts. Since we have central vacuum cleaners, there are hardly any major power consumers except in the kitchen anyway. And in the end, you have to keep things realistic, because even at the [Hifirack] they are usually hard to reach.

Yes, 1,600 watts were planned with great certainty. I know that. But it allows the situation that from some single sockets in the hallway, an additional one can easily be added if needed, which can also handle a high load. That’s how we arrived at the 1,600 watts.

At the Hi-Fi rack, for example, that’s such a case. System up to max. 1,100 watts. The TV at the time had 650 watts (power guzzler, I got rid of that thing). So also: own connection.

Don’t let me lie, I don’t remember exactly, but only 5 or 6 additional supply lines were needed... hardly any extra cost!

One more year, then newly sold vacuum cleaners are only allowed to have 900 watts. Most vacuum cleaners in the stores already have less than 800 watts. The same will happen gradually with many devices. I don’t even know how you’re supposed to reach 3600 watts at all then.

System with 1100 watt power consumption? What is that supposed to be? I have a 7.2 system with 190 watts music power per channel and come to a maximum of 290 watts power consumption.

My TV has a maximum of (with white screen) 520 watts - then there are also Blu-ray player, PS3, satellite receiver and a Wii - that's why I only have two sockets downstairs and one upstairs - everything has one power supply.

PS: Vacuum cleaners under 1000 watts are extremely uncool

After our vacuum cleaner gave up the ghost this year, I inevitably needed a new one. I don’t know what all has been changed with the nozzle and hose, but these things now stick to the floor so much that you can no longer move them on the carpet at full "750 watts" or vacuuming becomes a workout.

: Right, vacuum cleaners with lower power are uncool. Hopefully my old Miele lasts a long time. At least it’s good for something.

The TV: The device is a real burner. It used about 600 watts on average, I don’t know what the machine did with the power. The device was extremely expensive at the time. The new one uses 34 watts on average with a good picture. Since my wife watches a lot of TV (more precisely, this thing drones along in the background more or less all day), this box drove power consumption from now 10.5 kWh/day up to 18.5 kWh/day. That annoyed me so much that I got rid of the device.

The system is definitely powerful, though of course the 1,100 watts nominal max. connection power applies. When it’s just humming normally, it pulls 150 watts, but when it gets louder it draws significantly more.
