May I ask what kind of sound system that is? Ancient plasmas also used a lot of power back then - unfortunately, it has permanently ruined their reputation and caused the great technology to die out.
The TV wasn't that old - the picture was also good. The system is a Samsung 7+1. I once "picked it up" very cheaply a few years ago as a display model at Geiz&cool while I was actually buying a washing machine. The salesman said at the time, when it kicks in, you think the Russians are coming. That was true. Watching a movie (Bond or something) with it is really something that makes you happy. The floor actually and really trembles then.
Yes, that's just how it is, like everywhere in life...
One person is satisfied with a Smart and another needs an E-Class...
For me, it was never up for debate to have only a couple of sockets and LAN here and there... I always hated having all those power strips in the corners of the rented apartment... besides, these things can quickly become overloaded if you don't just have a TV, satellite receiver, and Blu-ray player plugged in...
We also don't have a single power strip. Everyone has to think about where they need sockets. And then better one too many than too few. I don't need 12 sockets at the TV, but apparently others do. The sockets I have there are already hidden away in the sideboard. On the other hand, we have 5 double sockets in the kitchen work area, and I wouldn't want to miss those.
PS: Sebastian, this system is a diva. At the time, Samsung tried to enter the market with such devices. The housing is too small despite the fan, the thermal loads (it gets hot!) cannot be dissipated during continuous high performance, then it shuts down.
I forgive it for that because I paid 500,- for it back then after a bit of Swabian bargaining.......(1.5 h bazaar, I always do it that way).
So I measure 150 watts during normal use and up to easily 450 / 500 watts at very loud levels: using an energy measuring device. The subwoofer is separate (and to my annoyance, the power consumption of the cube is already 30 watts at 0 output, so always turn it off separately).
That’s how I measured all the devices here. I would now have to take the thing off the shelf and look at the label on the back to see what it says......please don’t be mad, I’m not in the mood for that today; maybe next time I dust.
But I was sure that sooner or later the question from you would come.
Yes...actually a separate outlet wouldn’t have been needed....but now the wife can also plug something in vacuum cleaner......to vacuum the shelf
