Dear Sgt. Lapdance, so far I am only reading about a trivial matter here and you don't need a lawyer for that. If you want to talk about something else that’s on your mind, go ahead. Then I will have to change the title again, but so far my statements only refer to the downpipe.

The expert (publicly appointed and sworn) told us that we should contact the Bauretter. Among other things, it concerns expansion joints that are tiled over. He also had doubts about the proper execution of the walk-in shower. He said that in 2 years the wall/corner will be brown and black.

Dear Mycraft, please also take a look at my thread about the fragmented plaster strips. No one can "save" that anymore either. The facade would have to be insulated again.... and all for strips that don’t even cost 20€. According to the expert, it’s simply botched work and a defect!

Oh, then in the worst case the tile cracks, which can be replaced quite easily.

It would have been better if the craftsman had done a proper job right away.

I paid for it.

As a layperson, you don't see much. You enter the property and first think - yeah, looks good...

You no longer see that the [Schweißbahnen] were not properly laid with a fillet.

Such a "Baubegleitung" by a professional really makes sense....

But it's too late.

Of course, it would have been nice if the craftsmen had worked properly. But you know yourself, in life many things don’t go according to plan. There were also defects in my construction and also at the neighbors’. But everything was fixed by the GÜ, often without us having to report anything... even partially years after moving in... of course, there were here and there points of conflict... and you had to stand up for your rights, but often a factual discussion was enough.

So then write down everything that went wrong for you.

I have looked at the plaster strips... obviously they make no sense like that... but it is repairable since everything is still fresh... and the whole facade does not need to be redone but only the reveals.

So

1. Downpipe (repairable)
2. Plaster strips (repairable, although increased effort must be expected)
3. Tiles and expansion joints (repairable: tile out - adhesive off - cut new tile - adhesive joint profile in - new tile in)
4. Welding membranes which ones? Where? Roof, base slab?
5. Shower, here you need more information... pictures? Are there also any of the construction?
6. What else?

All of this so far is of course not great... but I would also not call it rubbish...

I see it differently Mycraft, I circulated pictures in my family/acquaintance circle - everyone was shocked, raised their eyebrows and said for a new building(....) this is rubbish.

Even in my rental apartment the windows look better!

An experienced craftsman could fix the reveal. I agree with you there.

But I strongly doubt that "our" developer will make it right again.

Today I found 2 big dents on the entrance door (dug out an old photo, it’s also on there, great)... things like that really annoy me. Why plaster over the protective foil.

Regarding the shower: I think just tiles on machine plaster are not a permanent protection against moisture. There has to be a waterproof coating applied with a roller - right?

One more thing, but I don’t want to go into too much detail. (that would go beyond the scope) and since you are an engineer....

Why do you want to build a chimney on 5cm screed? Because they forgot the concrete slab from the start. Okay. Then you break everything up and see that electrical cables were laid under the (planned) chimney. Then you also immediately notice that the welding seams of the floor slab lie “sharp” against the Poroton....
