Hello "Evolith". Before seriously considering the color of the ceramic tiles, one should take care of the essentials: the substrate. If the terrace area is fully exposed to the weather, a slope in the substrate must be taken into account. In the case of construction in contact with the ground, sealing the base slab is not necessarily required. If there is a room below, it would be more complicated for several reasons. For ceramic tiles, slip resistance of the tile surface as well as frost resistance should be considered if the area is directly irrigated. Everything concerning tile color and joint material is subordinate in view of the technical preparations of the substrate! --------------- Regards: KlaRa

The terrace area will be fully exposed to the weather except for about 4 sqm of roofing. In other words, a slight slope towards the garden will be necessary, as we will not have a step at the terrace door either. I am attaching a plan so that you can get an idea. We have already had RCL-I gravel dumped on the area so that later we only have to lay a base slab or sand on top of it.

It's a pity that I can't see your floor plan anywhere anymore; conceptually, it seems significantly clearer to me than most of what I usually see here. Which house model did you end up choosing, and the half-hipped roof as asked last time?

Your wish was my command. Unfortunately, the quality of the pictures is mediocre, as I had to switch between child and phone. I have posted our little house in the introduction section.

We also bought an existing property where we have a tiled terrace. I am surprised that no one has pointed out the "slip factor" of wet tiles yet. One must not lose sight of the fact that the terrace is often entered with unsuitable footwear, and slippers on wet tiles can quickly become a slip hazard. Even sneakers are not optimal, which my little cousin has already tested, as she hurriedly ran across the terrace. Please pay close attention!
