I have not read all the posts... But such a hedge is great!! And the children can also use it wonderfully. We have a mini garden, which is also bordered by a hedge. Unfortunately, the landlord hired an amateur for the hedge maintenance and he also cut the climbing birches. That caused tears. Otherwise, it is simply nice to have real nature to observe (we even had a roe buck in the hedge). So don't be upset

A bend in the original sense is regularly pruned. The point is that no trees form, but that it creates a dense bush.

... which, however, completely distorts reality not only in terms of the depicted density (see post #9). I think in post #9 you can see how it really is, and your sketch illustrates how it looks in your nightmares. The shadow will still be very transparent even when leafy, so in a favorable ratio that many people - including neighbors - will envy you for. It provides privacy, but "steals" little light. Even in the wind over the field behind, you will be the one whose napkins are not blown off the coffee table. And in twenty years, when the field becomes the next construction phase and the first "McMansion Hell Ersatzvillen 2.5" are built there, the little trees will significantly enhance the market value of your property. I cannot believe how ungrateful one can be, especially without any reason. Because what your sketch - unlike the shrubs without exaggeration - very clearly shows is: that a perfectly fine, by no means small house with a garden fits there. And a greyhound needs more exercise anyway than the property would offer even if it were bare.

Thank you for your contribution, I understand what you mean, even if picture 9 does not reflect well how it is in reality (the 8 meters are not clearly visible there).

I, on the other hand, cannot believe how someone can accuse me of ingratitude. I will, in all likelihood, build a house exactly once in my life – I am prepared to invest well over a million. My concerns, which I raise here for discussion, can be agreed with or not – completely legitimate. However, accusing me of ingratitude is not appropriate in my view. Where have we ended up that someone is accused of ingratitude just because building land is scarce, simply because he does not like 100% what is available? Because others have worse plots, or none at all, am I supposed to be satisfied?

Addendum: The property is now reserved for me. So far so good. Let's see. I will bother more often now.

That definitely doesn't hurt :) If 1-2 of the worst (largest) monsters from the "Gestrüpp" are missing sometime and there are a few more nicely blooming insect-friendly shrubs instead, no one will notice anyway. My parents-in-law have a beautiful natural hedge of almost similar size and nobody here sees that as a "flaw" ;-) But of course, it depends on how much green is left for the children's swing and sandbox, and naturally also on what kind of shrubs they are exactly. I would mark the corner posts of the house, garage, terrace on site and see how much garden is left or simply how it looks then.
