It heavily depends on user behavior and personal perception. We have children. If you don’t wipe with, for example, such a mentioned cloth for three days, the chrome faucet looks pretty wild. But that’s not only due to residual lime or other substances in the water, but also soap and toothpaste residues. But as already mentioned, rinsed wet and wiped over with a microfiber cloth, clean. No soaking, scrubbing or anything else necessary. The cleaning cycles are not different either. Just faster and easier. Or rather, if you stick to it and dry immediately after showering – then you would hardly need to use cleaning agents visually anymore.

I have dark brown tiles in the shower …. Had light tiles in the rental apartment and no descaling, that looked bad, especially the grout ….

And for example, if you have a hose on the showerhead, I don't wipe that off - that looked really bad in the apartment then ….

You have to clean, of course, but everything comes off easily again without harsh nasty chemicals

Ceramic hob cleaner sounds like the (only) solution that was eventually discovered in the other forum as well (the thread ran I think for over 6 years and still going). Although people there wrote about extreme effort, sometimes glass that was irreversibly damaged and also tiles that could no longer be cleaned properly.
Luckily, this all sounds very positive to me! May I ask in which region you live and how the water hardness is where you are?

Thanks already to everyone else for your answers!

Hm, I can’t find anything on the glass... but there is residue on the tiles in the shower, that’s true. We normally have 16 here and soften it to 5.

Is it possible to say in general how far down one could go with current technology, if one assumes, as in our case, 23-24?
