Hello, interesting topic, however some here are talking about softening water and others about descaling water?! Is that the same or do different "stages" need to be installed?! We have an enormous limescale problem, so I am currently interested in this topic. What can you recommend?! Or rather, you don't find that many manufacturers of such systems, do you?! Softening and descaling is the same thing here. How it works can be seen in several videos on the relevant portals. Our installer recommended a BWT system, I lean towards Grünbeck. In the end, it doesn't matter, both will work well.

Our general contractor recommends a water softening system. According to information from the [Stadtwerke], we have a water hardness of 12°DH. What do you think?

At 12°DH, I would personally save the additional and ongoing costs and occasionally descale the aerators
