Since [VE-Wasser] is supposed to be used in the underfloor heating anyway, there is no need for any descaling/softening.

Thank you Mycraft. Is it really true that only demineralized water is used for the underfloor heating? My husband said that you have to refill water from time to time – but then only VE water, which is specially bought in canisters?

Normally, you don't have to refill anything. But if you do, yes, with [VE]. Whether to use a canister or cartridge is up to you.

Hello everyone,

Regarding water softeners, my advice is to steer clear of Eckstein. Better buy Grünbeck or similarly good descaling systems. At a trade fair, I was sold the system; they claimed it would be scale-free and that the taste wouldn’t change. I was also given 3 months to test it. Then it wasn’t as promised; the water tastes really bad and the scale, well, it just reduces it, but it was absolutely not scale-free as promised. The salesperson lied to me just to make the sale. I thought, okay, I’ll return it. But here’s the thing: they didn’t accept it back and said that there are no returns for trade fair purchases. And apparently, that’s really the case. You can’t return it. No return policy at all. That’s why they promise you everything; you can’t return it anyway.

I asked around among colleagues and friends, and no one knew there was no return policy. That’s why Eckstein doesn’t sell online. Hasn’t anyone noticed that?

So stay away from Eckstein or any other device you see at trade fairs. There is definitely no return policy, you can Google it. Check it out, get informed, but then better buy online because then there’s a 4-week return policy. Just a tip from me.

The seller can talk a lot. If the contract does not include a three-month return policy, then he will not sell me a device. Those who can read ... Otherwise, the devices are probably neither better nor worse than those of their competitors.
