Properly planned, yes, but nothing pompous. Simple employee level without a golden edge.

We spent 400,000 in Saarland for 172 sqm without a basement. Timber frame construction without any frills.

I think without additional costs the house will cost about €270,000. House ~€220,000 + basement ~€50,000 Our house costs about €200,000 without [with relatively good equipment (electric shutters everywhere, partially blinds, chimney, ...)], but without air-water heat pump and without basement.

Already built? I would recommend to allow a buffer, it will be very tight.. for us, just the shell including the roof already cost that much.

235,000 € = approx. 1470 € per sqm

Calculated without additional costs (35,000 €) without land and without outdoor facilities (18,000 €) and of course without kitchen etc.

With a similarly high proportion of own work as planned by the original poster, including heating, sanitary, electrical, floor/roof insulation, drywall, wallpapering + painting etc. done by ourselves.
Time spent over 1.2 years:
approx. 35 hours/week by me
approx. 20 hours per week by my wife
approx. 1000 hours by construction helpers
